What is your specialty?
.
My specialty is well built functional furniture. I like making
pieces that people use every day, like entertainment centers,
dressers, night stands, coffee tables, hutches, computer centers,
etc...I don't usually make pieces strictly for Art's sake,
rather I make furniture that people use.

.
Do you make children's furniture?
.
Yes. I love making children's furniture. This is one of the
reasons I decided to start my business. When shopping for
my children's furniture, I found there was not much out there
that was clean, yet simple, that was made to last. So, I began
making my daughters their own bedroom suites.

.
Can you make a suite of furniture?
.
Yes. Actually, if you are considering having more than one
piece made to match one another, it is a good idea to have
them made around the same time. The reason for this is that
light and time can alter the finish on furniture. Sunlight
alters some woods coloring more than others and the UV light
in natural sunlight has a greater affect on some finishes.
This is expected and is completely normal in many natural
(non-painted) finishes. As for painted furniture, simple wear
and tear, dust and dirt can alter the color of a piece of
furniture.

.
Do you repair furniture?
.
Yes/No Again, everyone is not great at everything and everyone
does not do things the same way. Sometimes it is worth repairing
furniture and sometimes it simply is not cost effective. I
will gladly talk to you about a piece of furniture that needs
repair and will tell you if it is something I think I can
be repaired or if you should contact someone else. I may be
able to help you find someone that does the repairs needed.

|
.
Can you make something I found in a picture?
.
Yes/No I actually encourage people that are considering having
a custom piece of furniture made to keep pictures of things
they like and what it is they like about that piece. There
are many sources for existing images (Internet, catalogs,
etc
) and many times that is where inspiration begins.
Some details are not reproducible but for the most part this
is not an issue.

|
.
Can you help me design a piece of furniture from scratch?
.
Yes I would be glad to sit down with you and design something
from scratch. I have many sources for intricate detail moldings,
carvings, specialty hardware, finials, posts, etc. If many
meetings are necessary for scratch designs, a small design
fee may be necessary.
|
|
.
Why should I hire you?
.
If you want a well built piece of furniture that you will
be able to pass down to your children, then hire me. If you
want a one of a kind piece of furniture that no one in your
neighborhood already has, hire me. If you want to buy a piece
of furniture that you won't have to replace in a year because
it fell apart, hire me. If you want to hire someone that you
can trust in your home and on your property, hire me.
|
|
.
Are you insured?
.
Yes I am insured.
|
|
.
Is my deposit refundable?
.
The 50% deposit required is for purchasing materials and supplies
required to build that particular piece of furniture, therefore
it is non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel the original
order, please call and I will work with you, depending on
where I am in the process.
|
|
.
Can I supply the paint/stain for a piece of furniture?
.
Yes If you have a particular color that you want matched and
you already have the stain/paint color, I can work with that.
However, I will want to purchase that particular paint/stain
new from the store where it originally came from, as these
material deteriorate over time and if not properly stored
they can actually fail, change color and even develop mold.
|
|
.
Do you make unfinished furniture?
.
Yes I will gladly make a piece of furniture and leave it unfinished,
if requested to do so.
